With just one vote in the Assembly, New Jersey is the closest it’s ever been creating equal access to financial aid for all New Jersey students – regardless of their immigration status.
Join us on Thursday, April 12th at 1PM in the Assembly Chambers of the New Jersey Statehouse when the financial aid bill (A3467 in the Assembly/S699 in the Senate) giving equal access to financial aid for undocumented students will move to a floor vote (read: final vote) in the Assembly.
1. There will be no formal press conference or rally, but we are encouraging folks to come to Trenton for the vote - we will meet at 12:30pm in the Assembly chambers of the Statehouse! Please reply to this email with turnout goals. And feel free to reach out to me, Renata (Wind of the Spirit, cc’ed here) or Erika (New Jersey Policy Perspective, also cc’ed) if you have any questions!
2. Additionally, now through Thursday, we are asking that you call your Assembly representatives and remind them to vote YES on A3467 (S699’s counterpart in the Assembly). Then encourage your networks to do the same!
MRNJ can provide transportation! Text or email Nedia at 908.967.3478 or firstname.lastname@example.org to reserve your seat!
