SPLC Partner Briefing: Hate & Extremism

On ZOOM - members of SPLC’s Intelligence Project will share their research into current hate activity.

Eric K. Ward, senior fellow with the SPLC’s Intelligence Project, will moderate a discussion with Senior Research Analyst Cassie Miller and Investigative Reporter Michael Hayden. REGISTER

Miller will share insights from her recent reporting on The Base, an antisemitic white nationalist network that trains members in survivalism and paramilitary skills. The Base believes that society should be pushed to collapse so that a white ethnostate can arise out of the ruins. Their combat training is in preparation for that day, so that members are ready to mount an armed resistance against the government.

Hayden will discuss his new investigation into far-right One America News Network correspondent Jack Posobiec, a rising right-wing star who has been embraced and boosted by President Trump and his supporters. As Hayden’s investigation uncovered, Posobiec has a long history of collaborating with white supremacists, neo-fascists and antisemites – and his rise to prominence has been aided by Twitter’s hands-off approach to users who violate its rules against promoting hate and disinformation.

The 45-minute online briefing will include time for questions, which can be submitted in advance during the registration process.
