GRBWI Immigration Committee co-leaders Ellen Lichtig and Betsy Wattley have been nominated for 2018 JLMC Community Volunteer Award.
Under the inspired leadership of Ellen and Betsy, the GRBWI immigration committee is rooted in our fundamental belief in the self-evident truth of immigration as a living, breathing, indeed necessary function of this American democracy. A fundamental belief that when an open society welcomes the stranger, we all become stronger, we all become more human.
The most outstanding hallmark of Ellen and Betsy’s leadership is the collaborative way in which they approach each challenge and each new undertaking. There is no hierarchy: inspiration, knowledge and support flow freely from one committee member to another. The quiet guidance of these two women of outstanding character and conviction is leading the rest of us to make Red Bank the epitome of a “Welcoming City”.
