"Join the fight for immigrant rights! On Tuesday April 4th at 7pm Make the Road New Jersey will host its first meeting for Aliados (allies) who want to join the fight to defend immigrant rights, build the resistance over the long haul and become allies to an immigrant led movement. There will be volunteer opportunities to directly support immigrants fighting back against deportation. This event is co-sponsored by Blue Wave-NJ and SOMA Action. (read more)

Our Aliados meeting will cover the following topics:

  • Overview of current immigration and sanctuary policies;
  • How to be an ally to undocumented immigrants in the age of Trump;
  • Direct Action and protest support;
  • Opportunities to volunteer for DACA and citizenship clinics, support immigrant students applying to college, accompany immigrants to ICE check-ins and support immigrant families facing deportation.
