2017 Solidarity Awards & Cocktail Party

  • Gateway Project Spaces 2 Gateway Ctr Newark, NJ 07102 (map)

"Five years ago, a dedicated and militant base of New Jersey activists began to organize and courageously #resist the corporate takeover of our communities and the destabilization of our democracy. We are the fearless and militant activists of NJ Communities United - a grassroots social justice organization dedicated to building power for working class communities, communities of color and immigrant communities. We have taken over bank branches, disrupted shareholder meetings, organized mass student walk-outs, shut down major traffic routes, and staged a week-long sit-in at the Newark Superintendent's office.

Our #Resistance began before Trump came into power - and our fight is more urgent now than ever!

YOU can support our militant movement by joining the members of NJ Communities United on March 15th at 6:30 for our first-ever annual fundraiser and cocktail party, The 2017 Solidarity Awards! This year we will Salute the #Resistance by honoring the courage of community leaders who have fought against the political and economic system that gave rise to Trump. Join us to celebrate our honorees, East Orange Councilmember Chris James, HPAE's Bridget DeVane, the Movement of Child Care Workers in NJ, Camden Activist Vida Neil & Newark Activist Andrew Inweh!

Join us on March 15th for the 2017 Solidarity Awards & Cocktail Party!"
